NGO Aid Map and IATI

To ensure that the data on NGO Aid Map is as useful as possible, we have brought our initiative's data standards in line with those of the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI). IATI is a voluntary, multi-stakeholder initiative that aims to make information about aid and other development resources easier to access, use and understand. The goal of this effort is to increase the effectiveness of these resources in tackling poverty. Since 2011, hundreds of organizations – including donors, foundations, NGOs and others – have published their data to IATI. In publishing our own data to IATI, our goal is to make it easier to combine our data with that of others, increasing the amount of information on aid activities available in a common format.

The table below shows how the data fields on NGO Aid Map compare to those in IATI. We would also like to note that:

  • NGO Aid Map's IATI data is available on the IATI Registry here.
  • We will publish all of our data to IATI on a daily basis, excluding data from organizations that publish to IATI independently in order to minimize double-counting. The data we publish to IATI includes an organization's active and past projects but does not include data from organizations that are not current InterAction members.
  • Organizations participating in NGO Aid Map can use the platform to start publishing to IATI on their own.
