Enhancing Nutrition Stepping Up Resilence and Enterprise (ENSURE)

Goal: Food security of targeted communities and households in Manicaland and Masvingo Provinces improved by 2018. The ENSURE program interventions are organized around three important themes: maternal and child health (SO1), agriculture and economic development (SO2), and resilience (SO3). Complementing these themes and focusing on the current context in Zimbabwe, ENSURE will highlight the Cross Cutting Objective (SO4) of promoting gender equity in nutrition and agriculture.

Activities

Strategic Objective 1: Nutrition among women of reproductive age and children under 5 years improved through direct supplementary feeding, nutrition messaging and improved water, sanitation and hygiene practices. Equitable participation and decision making by women and men is cross cutting.

Strategic objective 2: Household income increased through improved agricultural practices, market linkages and economic empowerment initiatives (Village Savings and Lending) and financial linkages. Equitable participation and decision making by women and men is cross cutting.

Strategic Objective 3: Resilince to food security of communities improved through community disaster preparedness planning. Equitable participation and decision making by women and men is cross cutting
