SIDA 2017 South Sudan refugee response in Uganda
ACF will employ a multi-sectoral context specific approach to address the basic factors affecting acute malnutrition among refugee women, men and children and host communities through the following activities and approaches: Supporting the district health structures for early detection, referral, management and follow up of acute malnutrition. This will be specifically implemented in Yumbe where there is an urgent need to scale up and strengthen curative services and increase access and coverage of SAM management. For this ACF will promote the IMAM approach which links inpatient treatment with outpatient care and comprehensive community mobilization and involvement through direct support to 9 (2 ITC + 7 OTC) newly established treatment sites.
