Building Healthy Communities Research Grant
With funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), the Cooperative Development Foundation (CDF) and NCBA CLUSA will embark on a two-year project to understand the role of cooperatives in building healthy, equitable and sustainable communities. The $250,000 RWJF grant includes funding for four white papers and two convenings of cooperative developers, social scientists, economists and subject matter experts to identify and quantify the social and economic benefits of cooperatives to communities. The project will also study public policy initiatives that encourage and support the development of cooperatives as a tool to strengthen the health, equity and sustainability of communities.
