Combat Trafficking through Strengthened Protective Environment

Bangladesh shares international borders with India, which makes the women and children near the border more susceptible to trafficking. Border areas are frequently used as land routes for trafficking for entering into India. The entire community is especially economically vulnerable. All people—children, teenagers, women, widows, adolescent boys and girls and street children will benefit from this project. The goal of the project is “A community free from trafficking and modern slavery.” Specific objectives are: Increased awareness and capacities of rights holders, civil society and duty bearers; Establishment of effective and safe protection mechanisms among different stakeholders; and Decreased economic vulnerability to human trafficking through strengthening alternative livelihoods of vulnerable families.
